Ken Rhodes letter to the editor

These have been exciting times for Idaho sports.
The BSU Broncos have given Idaho fans a reason to be proud of our state and prove that an Idaho team can play with anybody in the nation.
Boise State isn't the only local team making a name for itself on the national sports scene. There are a few "minor" differences between the Boise State football team and the local team, however.
The team is McU Sports, the sport is softball and the players are all over age 50, most are over 55. This group of athletes won the AA "World Championship" crown in Phoenix two years ago beating 25 other teams and came in third at this year's tournament in the AAA Division against 28 other teams.
Both of these accomplishments were submitted to the Sports department at the Statesman.
One was never published and the other was put in the "Community" section where those of us who were looking for it didn't see it.
Take "pride" Idaho, you have a "world championship" team right here in Idaho.
Too bad you have to learn about them in a letter and not on the sports page of the Statesman.
